Explore stunning rocks from across Australia and Antarctica, ancient fossils, and spectacular minerals. Trace Australia’s incredible transformation from Gondwana to today’s island continent, delve into the mysteries of the deep Earth, and uncover the fascinating stories hidden in the rocks beneath our feet.

Treasure Hunt game
Explore Australia’s geological history with our interactive Treasure Hunt. Follow the path to discover fascinating rocks and minerals, solve clues, and uncover hidden treasures along the way. Keep your eyes peeled for ancient fossils, colourful minerals, and even a rock from Antarctica!
You can play the game in multiple ways:
- pick up a treasure map at the Arboretum’s information desk during the Heritage Festival
- download and print your own copy of the map [PDF]

As you explore the garden you can find out more about each rock using the QR codes on the plaques that have them, or go to our Rock collection pages.
Whichever way you choose to complete the Treasure Hunt, show your finished game to the Information Desk at the Arboretum to claim a small reward!
